History Week  2008

 
  
The Australian International Research Institute Incorporated  has staged the Modern History Forum in the NSW Parliament House in Sydney on 11 September 2008.  Dr Waldemar Niemotko delivered a lecture “Eyewitness accounts of Australian soldiers and POWs during the Second World War”, aimed at enhancement of school syllabi and text books on modern history.   The revolution in education as proclaimed by the Federal Government would focus primarily on teaching English, Mathematics and History from kindergarten to year 12.  At present, there are thirty four separate organisations and more than eighteen different senior history and English courses.  The National Curriculum Board is due to start work on 1 January 2009 with the objective in preparing a single, high quality, world class curriculum.

The Knights of the Australian Association of the Sovereign Military Hospitaller Order of St John of Jerusalem, of Rhodes and of Malta, have congregated on Saturday the 5th of July 2008 in Hunters Hill ( Sydney), on a Votive Mass on the Birthday of their Patron, St John the Baptist, that was featured by the Investiture of Deirdre Patricia Page as a Dame
